Last summer, I had the honor of photographing a same-sex secret proposal in Tuscany, near Lucca. It was a beautiful and emotional moment that left me feeling grateful to have been a part of such a special event.
The two amazing girls I worked with were so in love that it was almost tangible in the air. I hid behind a door to capture the moment when one of them got down on one knee to propose, it was a heartwarming scene and I could see the love and joy in their eyes.
Fun fact, I was contacted by Megan months in advance so we studied a very detailed plan, I really like this kind of stuff, it makes me feel like in a James Bond movie. It was great finally meeting her in person and she squeezed me so much (she was quite nervous) when she hug me that I really could not hold my emotions and I cried a few moments later during the proposal.
After the proposal I gave them some privacy to enjoy the moment and then we continued with a quick engagement shoot. They were natural in front of the camera and it was easy to capture their love and affection for each other.
Being able to document such a special moment for these two women was an incredible experience, I always aim to capture emotions and feelings through my lens and this proposal was no exception.
It really was an honor to capture this special moment for these two amazing women and I hope that these photos will serve as a reminder that love should always be celebrated.
