An intimate english wedding at San Galgano Abbey and Tenuta di Papena, Tuscany

When it comes to planning a wedding abroad, it can be difficult to know where to start. K&B wanted to have an intimate and unique wedding experience so they chose the picturesque San Galgano Abbey in Tuscany as the backdrop for their ceremony.

The 13th century abbey has been a popular destination for couples wanting to exchange their vows in a romantic and historic setting, and K&B were no exception. The abbey, a stunningly preserved ruin, is located in the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside, and offers breathtaking views and plenty of photo opportunities.

The ceremony was an intimate affair, with only their closest family and friends in attendance. The couple exchanged their vows in the abbey’s chapel, surrounded by the grandiose stone walls and under the light since the abbey has no roof from centuries. After the ceremony, the couple and their guests walked through the abbey gardens and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The couple then celebrated their marriage with a reception held at Tenuta di Papena, a nearby estate. The reception was filled with laughter, food and music, and the couple and their guests danced the night away.

I must say that I really liked the relaxed mood of this wedding and I am happy that they trusted me for suggestions about the shots and timing (it was early afternoon ceremony so I had to work with harsh light)

I must admit that being a San Galgano specialist (I’ve shot so many weddings there) really helps me to find the best shots opportunities all the times, that’s the great value of the experience!
