Elopement in Florence

Last sunday I shot the first wedding of the season, a very romantic elopement in Florence with a fun and cool greek couple.

I felt a connection to Georgia, the bride, from the very start and I was very pleased to meet her and Iannis in person eventually, they have been the perfect couple for me since they trusted me about everything and it was very easy to work with them, we had tons of fun

and I think we came out with some very good shot!

We started in early afternoon with the getting ready at Hotel Plaza Lucchesi, in Florence, where the sun was entering through the window and bouncing on the white walls, this created a perfect lighting for the pictures and a very elegant mood, I think.

I love shooting elopments since you have time to talk to the couple, they were on time so we had time to chat and to talk about what we were going to shot later, it was a great warm up.

Then we moved toward the church ( San Jacopo Soprarno ), one of the oldest church in florence, for the Greek Orthodox ceremony. It was very interesting for me to see this kind of ceremony, a lot of different rituals compared to symbolic, civil or catholic weddingds. There was a special mood and a special light during the ceremony, it was incredibile.

After the ceremony we headed to Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Palazzo Vecchio e then we ended our photoshoot on the rooftop, that’s one experience you need to do when you come to Florence,

take a look at how beautiful my city is from above, that’s something you won’t forget.

I am very proud of this first wedding of the season and I hope you like the pictures as much as I liked shooting them.
