There is something about summer evenings in Chianti that never gets old. Last summer I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful wedding at Le Filigare, one of those places that quietly does all the work for you. Rolling hills, open views, warm air and that unmistakable Tuscan feeling that international couples fall in love with the moment they arrive.
From the very beginning, the vibe of the day was exactly what I love most. The couple was incredibly sweet and relaxed, the kind of people who trust the process and simply enjoy every moment. As a Tuscany wedding photographer these are the weddings where everything flows naturally and the story tells itself.
A Ceremony Overlooking the Tuscan Hills
The ceremony took place outdoors, with the classic Chianti landscape stretching behind them. No need for anything complicated when you have that kind of view. The atmosphere was intimate, emotional and, above all, genuine.
My approach during moments like these is always the same. I stay as invisible as possible and let things unfold. This wedding was a perfect example of why I strongly believe in a reportage style. Real smiles, real emotions, real connections. Nothing forced, nothing interrupted.
Dinner, Speeches and Lots of Laughs
After the ceremony, the celebration moved into a beautiful outdoor dinner. The mood stayed light and joyful all evening. There was plenty of laughter, heartfelt speeches and that warm energy that only happens when guests feel completely at ease.
These are the moments I love to document quietly. Small gestures, spontaneous reactions, the way people lean into each other when they laugh. This is where the real memories live.
Five Minutes of Sunset Magic
We almost missed it but we were ready to use the few moments of good light we had.
The sunset that day was quick and subtle, one of those fleeting Tuscan evenings where the light gives you just a tiny window. We had maybe five minutes of usable glow before it disappeared behind the hills.
But honestly, that is often all we need.
Because I know Le Filigare and the Chianti light very well we moved fast and kept things simple. No stiff posing, no long sessions. Just a short walk, a bit of movement and letting the couple be themselves.
As usual, it worked beautifully.
