An Unforgettable Dolomites Elopement — A Wild, Beautiful Adventure in the Italian Alps

Some weddings are made of grand venues, big celebrations, and endless guest lists. Others… are pure, raw adventures. This elopement on top of the Dolomites was exactly that — just the couple, myself, and my amazing friend and planner, Mirka Pascale. No crowd. No noise. Just the mountains, the wind, and a whole lot of love.

We actually started the day before the ceremony, exploring the area and capturing some of the details and couple portraits while the light was absolutely perfect — better than we could ever expect on the ceremony day itself. It was a great chance to take our time, enjoy the surroundings, and create some beautiful, intimate images without any rush.

Then came the big day — very early in the morning, with that surreal silence that only the high mountains can offer. It was freezing cold — the kind of cold that makes your fingers go numb and your breath visible in the air. We could feel the snow getting closer with every step, but none of us cared. The beauty surrounding us was simply overwhelming.

The ceremony was intimate, emotional, and inspiring — the kind of moment that makes you forget about everything else. It was about them. Their story. Their choice to do something wildly different, something that truly reflected who they are.

And then… came the adventure part. Our driver never showed up for the descent. So, picture this: four slightly frozen humans, two trolleys, camera gear, backpacks, and the steep mountain path ahead of us. We laughed, we struggled, we took breaks, and somehow it made the whole experience even more epic — and unforgettable.

As a wedding photographer, being in such an unusual environment was incredibly inspiring. The textures of the rocks, the way the light filtered through the clouds, the colors of the mountains waking up with the day — everything was different, challenging, and beautiful in a way that Tuscany could never be (and I say that with all the love for my hills).

It reminded me why I do this job. Because love has no boundaries — not of place, not of weather, not of comfort. Whether it’s a sunset over the rolling hills of Tuscany or the icy wind of the Dolomites, the emotions are what truly matter.

And honestly… I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

If you’re dreaming of an elopement — whether it’s on top of a mountain, by the sea, or in the quiet hills of Tuscany — I would love to be there with you, camera in hand, ready to tell your story exactly as it is: real, raw, and full of life.

Because at the end of the day, it’s not about perfect weather or perfect plans. It’s about choosing each other, embracing the adventure, and creating memories that are truly yours.

Let’s dream something beautiful together.
