An Australian Elopement at Dawn in Florence

Florence has a completely different soul at dawn.
Silent, empty, suspended. And that’s exactly why this Australian elopement felt so incredibly special.

This day didn’t start with sunlight—it started in the middle of the night.

Getting Ready While the City Sleeps

While Florence was still asleep, we were already moving.
A quiet getting ready, soft lights, low voices, and that unmistakable mix of excitement and calm that only elopements seem to have. No rush, no audience, just two people fully present in the moment.

The goal was simple: be ready before the city woke up.

A Ceremony for Just the Two of Them

As the sky slowly started to change color they exchanged vows in a very intimate and quick ceremony. Nothing staged, nothing forced. Just emotions, whispers, and that magical blue hour turning into the first warm light of the day.

Those minutes felt suspended in time.
It was one of those moments where you instinctively slow down, because you know you’re witnessing something rare.

A Cab Ride Into a Dreamlike Florence

Right after the ceremony, we jumped into a cab and headed into the heart of Florence.

And then… magic.

Empty streets.
No tourists.
No noise.

Just Florence showing its most authentic face.

Shooting in places that are usually crowded, but completely deserted, is surreal. Every step echoed on the stone streets, every corner felt like a movie set built just for them. We moved fast, light, and instinctively capturing real moments rather than constructing poses.

Why Dawn Elopements Are So Special

This elopement is the perfect example of why I love dawn weddings and elopements in Florence:

  • Absolute intimacy
  • Total freedom
  • The city at its most cinematic
  • A calm, emotional pace that lets everything feel real

No distractions. Just connection.

It was short, intense, emotional, and incredibly beautiful.
One of those mornings that reminds me why I love this job so much.

Pure magic, from darkness to light.
