Every assignment is a unique journey into the lives of couples and some stories are so enchanting that they leave an indelible mark on the heart.
Last year I had the privilege of being part of a magical surprise proposal at the breathtaking Sassa al Sole in Tuscany – a story that unfolded against the backdrop of autumn’s warm hues and the timeless beauty of this Italian haven.
The story began when a couple from Belgium decided to escape to the romantic landscapes of Tuscany for a few days. Little did the bride-to-be know her life was about to change in the most beautiful way possible. The groom, meticulously planning every detail, reached out to me to document this pivotal moment in their love story.
To ensure the surprise remained intact I adopted the guise of a photographer commissioned by Sassa al Sole to capture images for their website. This allowed me to seamlessly blend into the scenery, giving the couple the space to savor their time together without raising any suspicions.
And then it happened – the heartfelt question, the joyous affirmation. She said yes! As the newly engaged couple basked in the glow of their love, I had the privilege of immortalizing that precise second when their lives changed forever. The genuine emotions, the surprise, and the overwhelming happiness – all captured in the click of my camera.
What made the experience even more special was the revelation that this love story was far from over. Plans for a Tuscany wedding in 2024 are already in motion, and I was overjoyed to learn that I would continue to be a part of their journey as their chosen wedding photographer.
Being trusted to document not only the surprise proposal but also the forthcoming wedding is a tremendous honor. It’s a testament to the connection established with this couple and the belief that I can preserve the most significant moments of their lives.
