Planning the shooting

Hello guys

Next week I will have an important photoshoot with one of the rising star in world boxing, Fabio Turchi,

the italian cruiser weight boxe champion.

As I always do for the most challenging jobs, especially when strobe lighting is involved, I have to put on paper

the mood and the kind of pictures that I will take (even if I love to improvise).

The first thing, of course, is to define what I want to show to the people, what kind of pictures I want to shot and

the general mood of the shooting. Then I talk to the ones (if possible in location) that will be the subject of the shooting

and start thinking about the single images and how I could create them, this is the storyboard-time !

Some might argue that this is a boring part of the photographer’s job but I must admit that I love the planning,

I love talking and thinking about what I’m going to do, taking notes and doodling, even more if it’s about something new to me.

Planning is the first step to do the things YOUR way and to keep you focused on the goal, I’m pretty sure I’ll have a hell of a time with Fabio

since I already enjoy this job.

Here’s an example of what I doodle and bring at the shooting, it’s easier to explain a pose to the subjects

if you are able to show them on paper what you need from them (even if I doodle terribly ahahaha).

if you want to hire me for your portrait session just send me an e-mail to info@matteo-innocenti.com
