An American–Mexican Wedding at Castello di Badia

The Castello di Badia is without a doubt one of my favorite venues to work at. Every time I’m there, it feels a bit like coming home: I know the spaces, the light, the rhythm of the day—and all of this helps create a relaxed and natural storytelling flow.

This American–Mexican wedding was exactly the kind of day I love photographing.
The couple was beautiful, of course, but above all they were genuinely kind, open, and a real pleasure to be around. Those human qualities always make the biggest difference.

One of the most interesting and unexpected discoveries of the day was finding out that the groom is a huge film photography enthusiast. At some point, we even used his own medium format film camera both to take a few shots and as a subject within the photos themselves. Moments like these add a personal layer to the story and make each wedding truly unique.

Dinner was pure fun. Between courses, guests were encouraged—let’s say very enthusiastically—to drink tequila, creating a lively, playful atmosphere that naturally led into an equally energetic party. From there on, the celebration was simply the perfect consequence of a day filled with joy and good vibes.

Another great day at the castle, another happy couple, and another reminder of why I love this job so much. Each wedding is different, but days like this always leave me with a big sense of satisfaction and gratitude.
