A Chinese – Italian wedding at Villa di Artimino, Tuscany [Nancy & Federico]

the latest wedding of the season ! I always have a little sadness when I realize that I am shooting the last wedding of the season, this is a job very demanding for  both mind and body but it comes from a passion and the passion kicks in everytime I grab the camera to shoot, that’s why I would never stop.   But I was also happy that Nancy & Federico were my last couple since…

Wedding proposal at San Galgano, Tuscany

The wedding proposal photoshoot are my new obsession. It’s so fun to find each time different ways to show myself at the time of the proposal without being noticed before, each time we have to setup something new and I love this. For Patrick & Carina I was trying to hide amongst the tourist wearing a very casual outfit and looking to a random map of tuscany BUT…. it was a friday and all the people went…

Same sex wedding in Tuscany [John & Joey]

There’s always a first time and, for me, this was the first time I had the pleasure to shot a same sex wedding. This meant a lot to me since I’ve always believed in marriage equality and finally we are coming out from a dark age. I still remember one of the first question I got from John: “have you ever shot a gay wedding?”. The answer was that I shot weddings, it does not…

Elegant wedding at Villa di Maiano, Tuscany [Siyi & Daniel]

Let’s start from the end this time: [10:55, 28/10/2019] Siyi: Thank you so much!! They are great![10:56, 28/10/2019] Siyi: We are so happy with all the photo!! Getting married in a Castle in Tuscany [V & J]

Love at first sight, that’s what I felt with Castello di Badia at Poggibonsi (SI) in Tuscany, Italy. I loved the place, loved the castle himself, loved the owner Nicola but mostly I loved the couple that hired me to shoot their wedding there. Virginia was a joy to deal with from the beginning, nobody ever asked me “Would you please accept our request to be our wedding photographer? we would be delighted” so it…

Wedding in San Galgano, Tuscany

as someone might know I have also a side project called Tuscanywed, a sort of joint venture with my colleague Silvia and today I want to show you the pictures I took on our latest wedding.   Carmen & Damun chose Tuscanywed service to have both mine and her style mixed together and, as usual, it was fun and gave us great satisfactions. The wedding was held in front of San Galgano Abbey and, as…

Wedding in Pisa, Tuscany [Matilde & Dario]

I loved this wedding! Matilde and Dario are a young, beautiful and cool couple that I met about a year ago when they came to my office to hire me, I felt that we where on the same wavelenght and I was more than sure that it would have been a blast and indeed it was.   I do not shoot many local wedding but this had that “destination wedding” feel that I enjoy the…

Italian spanish wedding in Tuscany [Marta y Andrea]

I usually hate when we have rainy day on weddings but I must also thank the weather since it force me to find new solutions to get good shots in the most difficult situations. This happened also at Marta & Andrea’s wedding at Villa Castelletti, they had planned an outdoor ceremony and dinner but the weather had different ideas. We managed to make it for the ceremony (even if the confetti were thrown under heavy…

An intimate wedding in Casentino, Tuscany

I do love shooting intimate weddings, it keeps me even more focused on people since you have the chance to get to know a little bit everyone and it helps shooting pictures a lot. I love the fact that you are, somehow, part of the wedding, you have no way to hide amongst people as we usually do so it changes a little bit our point of view and perspective on the wedding day. Mallory…

Destination wedding in Casentino, Tuscany [Kristen & Henrik]

“you know, we are so shy, we are not comfortable in front of a camera”   It happens quite a lot to hear this sentence from the couples but, in these years, I’ve learned that it’s not about being shy but mostly about being comfortable with the photographer. That’s why I always say that I will respect their will, mood and their nature but that it does not worries me so much since I am a…

Indian – Italian wedding in Tuscany

It’s not so common to shot an indian-italian wedding but this season I made it thanks to Gabriella & Anshu, a very kind and warm couple living in the UK. It was a very sweet wedding with all the families involved in the ceremony and with a lot of amaziong traditional dresses as you can see from the pictures!   Photographer: Matteo Innocenti Videomaker: Fabio Bertiè  Location: Villa il Poggione Hair and Make up: Suely…

Irish wedding in Volterra, Tuscany

What a wedding day!!!! Julie and Terry’s wedding was one of the most fun and emotional I have ever shot, I met them last winter and we had a blast talking for hours at one of my favourite restaurant (Dolce & Forte, Montespertoli, next to my office) and I was pretty sure that it would have been a great wedding. Despite the cold, the bad weather and the ceremony that could not be held outside it really…

An Austrian – Japanese wedding in Florence, Tuscany

This spring I had the pleasure to shot this lovely Austrian-Japanese wedding in Florence, Tuscany. Hana and Mathias were a pleasure to work with, lovely, kind and so easy to be portraited, it was pure joy for me! The wedding was celebrated at Villa Il Garofalo, a beautiful villa in Florence with a magnificent view over the city, really breathtaking.   I hope the pictures speaks for themselves so I won’t bother you with words…

Rainy wedding in Val d’Orcia, Tuscany

“What shall we do if it rains on our wedding day and we have no plan B” “Umbrella is a great plan B so you can enjoy the view and the place for your outside ceremony”   Rain was a big bummer this spring, we had a very rainy May and it’s quite unusual for Tuscany BUT….. shall rain ruin your wedding day? not at all. that’s what Amy and Stephen shall have tought when…

A classic italian wedding [Caterina & Simone]

I mostly shoot destination weddings in Tuscany but sometimes it’s nice also to get back to the roots and shoot some local weddings too.   I really liked Caterina and Simone from the start, thye had an exact idea of what their wedding should be and they planned everything perfectly, from the getting ready up to the first dance.   it was a happy day full of smiles (Caterina’s smile is really something, isn’t it?) and emotions…

Intimate wedding at Villa il Granduca, Tuscany [Samantha & Alex]

One of the hottest day in July was the day for Sam & Alex’s wedding, it was a very intimate wedding in a beautiful villa overlooking the tuscan country and Florence. When there’s love there’s no issue about harsh light and hot weather, it was a very emotional ceremony and we I had all the time in the world to take pictures of the couple while still doing my wedding reportage for the rest of the…

Photo of the day – 20/06/19

I do like taking nice couple pictures, pictures looking like cinematographic frames or crazy light situation to put my couples in. But we must never forget what a wedding day is about. It’s about love and love can be also a tiny hand looking for the safety of his dad’s hand. that’s love, that’s why I love the small details or gestures, that’s why I am there.

Japanese traditions in Certaldo, Tuscany. Hana & Matthias wedding in Tuscany

I had a very good start this season, a lot of spring weddings and some surprises! One of the surprise was Hanna & Matthias hiring me also for their civil wedding in Certaldo and, on top, the AMAZING traditional japanese wedding dress that Hana was wearing. It’s a family Kimono (5 generations got married with that dress) and she was simply stunning with her traditional dress and hair! fun fact: there’s an original Japanese house of…

Engagement at Villa Caruso, Alessia & Tommaso

I love when the couple ask also for Elopement session, it helps a lot to break the ice for the wedding day (a post about it will follow in the next days, stay tuned) so I was glad that Alessia & Tommaso also agreed to shot their engagement pictures.   Alessia told me that she’s shy, that she won’t be comfortable in front of a camera and that she usually does not likes her pictures…..well,…

Intimate wedding in Tuscany, Tatiana & Daniel

There’s always a first time, I think. This was my first intimate wedding with a couple from Costa Rica and it was SIMPLY AMAZING. let’s not focus on the ceremony, on the beautiful setting at Conti di San Bonifacio and the amazing light we got. Let’s just talk about how FUN it was. I never felt that energy in such an intimate wedding (7 guests), it was loud, fun, emotional and I still put a smile on my…

Engagement in Monteriggioni, Tuscany

I’ve always liked that amazing medieval town over the hill, I’ve been there as a tourist many times so I figured it was time for me to plan an engagement session in Monteriggioni!   unfortunately we had no chances to go over the walls and enjoy the view but we improvised and we got a nice set of pictures! I can’t wait to shoot this amazing wedding in Tuscany 😉   here’s the pictures

Elopement in Florence

Last sunday I shot the first wedding of the season, a very romantic elopement in Florence with a fun and cool greek couple.   I felt a connection to Georgia, the bride, from the very start and I was very pleased to meet her and Iannis in person eventually, they have been the perfect couple for me since they trusted me about everything and it was very easy to work with them, we had tons of fun and…

My first time as a Judge to an international contest

Hello guys   Today it’s not about the pictures, it’s about a new experience: I will be part of the jury for an international contest and I am so honored that they choose me. I think it will be nice to see how many colleagues from all over the world approach the wedding and all the different styles, it will be hard work but it will be very interesting for me here’s the link https://wpa2018.wedbox.com/jury/  …

A scottish wedding in San Galgano, Tuscany

As you can see from my recent posts the previous wedding season has been a very happy one and it could not have a better ending than this, a very fun scottish wedding with a lovely ceremony in San Galgano Abbey, Tuscany, followed by a great reception and party at Tenuta di Papena . I was pretty excited when I knew that Ashleigh and Maurice chose me as their wedding photographer since I never had the chance to…

A romantic wedding in San Galgano abbey

Ok, I admit it. I love shooting in San Galgano Abbey, one of the gem we have in Tuscany.  Can you blame me ?   When I got the first e-mail from Mari, a spanish girl living in Australia, I already felt that this could be a fun wedding and now I can say that my feelings were right from the start. A very romantic wedding made of vows, poems, an opera singer and string, a…

Ylenia & Andrea: an emotional wedding in Tuscany

I like first times.  It’s always a challenge to me. This was the first time I was shooting a fellow wedding photographer getting married so I had  a lot of responsibilty being chosen from a person that does my same job!   The wedding was held at Villa di Striano, Borgo San Lorenzo (in Mugello area), a wonderful location that I really enjoyed shooting at.   Ylenia and Andrea made everything simple for me since…

Destination wedding in San Galgano

Everyone has his own dream and goals, one of my main one was shooting a wedding in San Galgano abbey and…. it happened 3 times in a row this season. Can you imagine how happy I was ?   Jamie and Shin are a cool and sweet couple from the US that choose me to be their wedding photographer on their special day in Tuscany, I really need to thank them since this was one…
