Film Photography Monday – 27/03/17

here we go with the second Film Photography Monday.   this shot was made about 1 month ago in Quercianella (near Leghorn) with my 6×6 medium format Yashica 24 with Portra 400 120 film. I love shooting here since this is a place that relax me a lot, a place where you can have your time to think, read or just enjoy the silence. I hope you like it.

Photo of the day – 26/03/17

hello guys   I shot this picture last saturday while me and my working partner Silvia were having a couple of hours of relax during her 3 days indian wedding in Tabiano Castle. We where walking in Salsomaggiore Terme looking for lunch while we spot this nice building and I asked her to pose for me, I saw the men riding the bike so I waited him to be in the right place and I shot…

My favourite photographer

I’ve been asked many times about my influences in photography and who are the photographers I follow. To be honest I do not follow any photographer and I do know just some colleague’s work from their FB’s pages or because we work together sometime.   My main source of inspiration for my works is not a photographer, I think you may know him since his name was Michelangelo Merisi, called “il Caravaggio” (I think anyone knows him…

Photo of the day – 23/03/17

While I’m getting ready for the first wedding of the year (I will be backing up my colleague Silvia for a wonderful Indian wedding in the next 3 days) I just want to show you a simple portrait I shot more than a year ago.   Francesca is the sister of one of “my” 2015’s bride and I think I had “the birth of Venus” from Botticelli in mind when I shot this picture. Classical…

My wedding gear

Shooting wedding is something very complicated and require skills and tecnique. It also require professional gear and a lot of backup since you never know what may happen. A lot of people ask me what kind of gear I use for wedding so  this is a short list about it:   Digital cameras: A couple of Nikon D750 (full frame 35mm sensor) and a mirrorless Fuji xt10 as backup. Both Nikon have 2 memory card slot so…

I have a silly little tradition about Siena. Each time I go there (for work, turism or food) I have to take this picture. exactly the same each time. It’s nice to know that, despite what life has planned for you, this pictures will always look the same.

Film Photography Monday

ciao guys   this will be the first of my FPMs (Film Photography Monday), I think it’s a good idea to shoot also on film since it slows me down a little bit and make me think harder  so it’s a good brain trainer and it works for me.   Every monday (hopefully) I will post a film picture with some details and I’ll start from this one that I shot at a lake nearby a…

new wedding season is starting!

we’re almost there! 2017 wedding season has finally arrived (even if I already shot some engagements) and I’m so grateful for the wedding I will shot this year, I’ve been hired for both italian and international wedding so I’m pretty excited.   I will also have the usual cool collaboration with my long time working partner and friend Silvia Galora, we will shot some Tuscanywed job and we will support each other as second shooter as much…

Engagement in Florence A.K.A. Love, Laughters and Elegance in Boboli Garden

I know, I know. Any photographer use to say “ooooooh I had so much fuuuun” “I love these 2” “so coooool” for any photoshoot. I get it. that’s marketing, that’s being polite. But I REALLY had a blast shooting with Nicole & Keith from Florida, I REALLY felt in love with their love (yeah I sound cheesy, I know it), I REALLY think we did something cool this saturday.   Let’s go back in time a little bit….
